Naturopathy is a distinct and complete system of health care.

Naturopathic medicine uses natural therapies to tap into the body’s self healing abilities.  Naturopathic medicine has developed into a well respected and sought after natural treatment for many individuals who want to try alternatives to pharmaceuticals and to improve their overall health and way of living.  Today naturopaths use scientific evidence as well as traditional evidence in practice.

Our Naturopath Melissa, will take your case, develop a treatment plan and also offer maintenance for long term good health. She treats both acute and chronic conditions.

Naturopathic care is well suited to anyone at any age. Naturopaths have many answers for common conditions. Naturopaths use various modalities in their practice. Melissa uses the following modalities: herbal medicine, nutritional medicine and dietary and lifestyle advice.

As your Naturopath, she will seek to restore and maintain optimum health.  She will take into account individual physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental and social factors in order to treat you as a unique person.

    Herbal medicine

    The holistic effect of herbs works on a physical and energetic level to restore health. They can be used as teas, in fluid extract or taken as a tablet for acute or chronic illnesses.

      Nutritional medicine

      Hippocrates said “Let your food be your medicines, and your medicines your food”. Daily nutrition may need to be adjusted to meet the basic biochemical requirements to maintain health. Nutrition from whole foods and superfoods can be used to strengthen and nourish the body.  Sometimes supplements are needed to be prescribed when the body is out of balance.

      Mind body medicine and lifestyle advice

      This is an important area of health that is often neglected. It includes learning about relaxation, reducing stress and the mental patterning that creates our illnesses in the first place. Dealing with our stressors through visualisation, meditation, affirmations and exercise can create a calmer person and a more positive outlook on life.
